With the financial support of NABARD, Debadatta Club has implemented two Watershed Development Programmes in Gaisilat Block of Bargarh district in participatory approach for conserving natural resources. The uniqueness of the watershed programmes is the people’s participation in planning and
implementation the projects, monitoring as well as the financial managementthrough community-based organizations.
Bringing together farmers to form Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) is considered to be a promising approach to address the challenges that small and marginal farmers are facing by providing them benefits of economies ofscale. With this view, Debadatta Club has promoted 04 FPOs in Balangir district and 04 FPOs in Bargarh district with the support of NABARD.
Farm Sector Promotion Fund (FSPF) has been created in collaboration with NABARD for supporting innovations in agriculture and allied sector leading to enhancement of farm income and farm productivity.
To revive and multiply millet base crops and strengthen the food security & nutrition security of tribal and highland area people, Debadatta Club is implementing Millet crop development programme with the support ofGovernment of Odisha, Millet Mission Project.
Debadatta Club, an incubator for women-led social enterprises at grassroot levels, works with women at the centre and believes that empowering women as individuals has a holistic impact on each household. With this view, Debadatta Club has promoted Biejpur Handloom Producer Company Ltd. with the support of NABARD.
Debadatta Club, with the support of NABARD has undertaken Livelihood and Enterprise Development Programmes covering members of 30 matured Women Self Help Groups in Balangir district on milk processing. The programme aims at the creation of sustainable livelihoods amongst Self-Help Group members.
Debadatta Club has organized on-location skill development training programmes on dal processing, groundnut and millet in Gaisilat block with the support of NABARD which has attempted to bridge the skill deficits or facilitates optimization of production activities already pursued by the SHG members.
This project began with the aim of addressing particular concerns, such as the quality of bookkeeping of SHGs and assist banks in making informed credit
decisions with regard to the groups through the Management Information System (MIS). The project has covered 4260 SHGs in terms of digitizing of 05 blocks of Baragarh district.
Debadatta Club has facilitated child-led groups “Children’s Club” in Gaisilet block of Balangir district to empower children educate them about their rights and responsibilities, build their capacity to develop into great leaders, and encourage them to become active agents for change. Children are given opportunities to participate in community life (school, family, community etc) by setting up children’s clubs. Children are involved as stakeholders in various programmes related to public education campaigns, child development, social development etc.
Response of Debadatta Club to Covid 19 pandemic situations is immense as it could reach out to the unreached and most marginalized communities across Bargarh district of Odisha through its diverse and comprehensive program in terms of delivering critical support such as distribution of hygiene kits, dry rations, cooked food, unconditional cash support, rescue of detained migrant labourers, cremation of Covid infected dead body and awareness on COVID-19. It has collaborated with the Bargarh district administration.
Debadatta Club promotes the rights and interests of the persons with disabilities. It partners with stakeholders to build knowledge and capacities on inclusive practices and policies and creates opportunities for meaningful participation. Debadatta Club has collectivized persons with disabilities into PWD Organization in Gaisilet block and built their capacities for asserting rights.
